4th of July Activities
The Spirit of the Fourth Independence Day celebration in Rancho Bernardo will occur on Sunday, July 4th, 2010.
Kick Off Event on July 3rd
Join us on Saturday, July 3rd, 6 pm, at Webb Park for a free concert by the US Marines Recruit Depot Quintet, led by SSgt Jonathan Bley. Bring your blanket and picnic for this pre-Independence Day celebration. Food and beverages will be available onsite as well.
Independence Day Celebration Events
7:30 am - 3:00 pm – Community Fair at Webb Park- including Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast, Wheels of Freedom Motor Show, Art Walk, Quilt Show, children’s games, RB Idol competition, area vendors, and great drinks and food.
9:00 pm - 2:30 pm – Wheels of Freedom Motor Show (more information below)
10:45 am - 11:30 am – Memorial Service at the RB Veterans’ Memorial in Webb Park
11:40 am - 2:30 pm – RB Idol Competition, opening with an acoustic performance by Molly Jenson
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm – VIP Reception at The Remington Club (Freedom Club members, by Invitation only)
3:30 pm - 5:00 pm – Independence Day Parade along RB Rd, Bernardo Center Dr, and Acena Drive
6:30 pm - 9:30 pm – Entertainment & Fireworks at Bernardo Heights Middle School
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
Please bring NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS to the Community Service Project Booth to benefit the INTERFAITH COMMUNITY SERVICES FOOD PANTRY.
Community Fair Events (7:30 am - 3:00 pm)
- 7:30 am - 11:00 pm – Pancake Breakfast in Webb Park
- 9:00 am - 3:00 pm - Vendor, Artist, and Craft Booths
- 9:00 am - 3:00 pm - Hors d’oeurves & drinks available at the Courtyard Marriott
- 11:40 am - 2:30 pm - RB Idol Competition
- 10:00 am - 3:00 pm: Children’s Entertainment (Games and activities, RB Idol Competition)
Courtyard by Marriott will serve wine, beer, and mixed drinks, and host a quilt exhibit.
Motor Show
Classic, exotic, nostalgic and custom cars and motorcycles will be on display at the annual Spirit of the Fourth Motor Show from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm in the parking lot adjacent to Webb Park at 16796 Bernardo Center Drive.
This year’s Grand Marshals represent our wounded warriors and are all Purple Heart recipients: Bobby Cheatom, Ernest H. Collier, Esequiel Briones Leos, Gunnery Sergeant Philip Bishop, Joseph A. Petrini, Lieutenant Will Whiteman, US Navy, Major Dudley Elmore, Master Sergeant Torain S. Kelley, Orlow F. Garrett, Robert Holloway, Solomon K. Espinda, Ulysses Miller, Jr.
