THE FREEDOM CLUB
The Freedom Club is an organization comprised of patriotic residents who attend the VIP Reception on the Fourth of July along with Congressmen Brian Bilbray, Duncan Hunter, and
Darrell Issa; Mayor Jerry Sanders, City Councilman Brian Maienschein, County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price, and others. The Reception is from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m at San Diego National Bank.
Freedom Club members have reserved seating at the parade and at the fireworks display, and they have reserved parking at each event. Those who have been members of the Freedom Club prior to January 1, 2008 pay the same rate they have always paid. Those who join after
January 1, 2008 pay $150 per couple. The money is used to defray the expense of staging the Independence Day Celebration. We are a 501 (c) (3) organization so memberships are tax deductible.

VIP RECEPTION
A festive tradition in Rancho Bernardo is the annual VIP Reception which offers an opportunity for residents to socialize with elected officials, leaders of service organizations, leaders in the business community, and guests in the military.
It is open to all residents who become members of the Freedom Club and is usually attended by city, county, and state officials, and our Congressmen. More than 200 persons are expected to attend the reception which will be at the San Diego National Bank at 16789 Bernardo Center Drive from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4. It will be hosted by Steve Riddle, Rancho Bernardo Branch Manager. BAE Systems is sponsoring the reception through a generous contribution to the Spirit of the Fourth.
Music will be provided by the Rancho Bernardo High School Senior Quartet. The logos of those contributing to the reception appear on these pages. The Rancho Bernardo Business Association is chairing the reception. It has volunteered to solicit contributions of food and beverages from local restaurants and food suppliers. The RBBA is also responsible for food and beverage logistics, setting up the buffet, and decorations for the event.
