THE FREEDOM CLUB

The Freedom Club is an organization comprised of patriotic residents who attend the VIP Reception on the Fourth of July along with Congressmen Brian Bilbray, Duncan Hunter, and Darrell Issa; State Assemblymember Nathan Fletcher, Mayor Jerry Sanders, City Councilman Carl DeMaio, County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price, and others. The Reception is from 1 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  This year’s reception will be hosted by The Remington Club.

Freedom Club members have reserved seating at the parade and at the fireworks display, and they have reserved parking at each event.  New for 2010 is a special thank you to our Freedom Club members, the Freedom Club Concert, to be held at Webb Park on Saturday, July 3rd, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot Brass Quintet from the Recruit Depot located in downtown San Diego.  The Quintet will be led by SSgt. Jonathan Bley.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Funds generated from Freedom Club membership are used to defray the expense of staging the Independence Day Celebration. The Spirit of the Fourth is  a 501 (c) (3) organization so memberships are tax deductible.  To join the Freedom Club, please print and complete this form and mail it in or go to our website, www.spiritofthefourth.org, and join.  Freedom Club membership begins at $125.

VIP RECEPTION

A festive tradition in Rancho Bernardo is the annual VIP Reception which offers an opportunity for residents to socialize with elected officials, leaders of service organizations, leaders in the business community, and guests in the military.

It is open to all residents who become members of the Freedom Club and is usually attended by city, county, and state officials, and our Congressmen. More than 200 persons are expected to attend the reception which will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4.
